Participation conditions

Who can take part in the Make IT Agri Challenge?

The competition is open to all students enrolled in a post-secondary program, in France or abroad, regardless of their specialty.

Do I need to be studying agriculture or engineering?

No. All disciplines are welcome, as long as your project provides a relevant solution to agricultural or food-related challenges.

Can I participate alone?

No. The competition is open to teams of 2 to 6 students, either from the same school or from different institutions.

What criteria are used for pre-selection?

The jury assesses the relevance of the topic, the level of innovation, potential impact, feasibility of the project, and the motivation of the team.

Project development

Does the idea have to be entirely new?

Not necessarily. It can be an improvement or a combination of existing solutions, as long as your project brings real added value.

Do we need a working solution when we submit our application?

No. At the application stage, your idea can still be in the concept phase. If selected, you’ll have several months to develop it with the help of experts.

What types of technologies can be used?

All digital, robotic or IT-based technologies are eligible. The only requirement is that the project addresses a challenge related to sustainable agriculture or food systems.

Support & final

Will finalist teams receive support?

Yes. Selected projects benefit from technical and strategic mentoring throughout the development phase.

What happens if a team member drops out?

The team can continue as long as at least two members remain. It’s recommended to notify the organizers quickly.

What needs to be presented at the final?

An oral presentation in front of the jury, supported by any relevant materials (prototype, model, video, slides…). The goal is to demonstrate the project’s value and feasibility.

Awards & beyond

What prizes can be won?

Three prizes are awarded:

  • 1st prize: €4,000
  • 2nd prize: €3,000
  •  3rd prize: €2,000

Can the project continue after the competition?

Of course! Some winning projects have led to prototypes, partnerships or even startups. The competition is often a springboard.
